Making money, from home, by talking about sex, what’s there not to like? If you’ve ever thought about how to become a male PSO, you are in the right place. Although a phone sex operator may appear to be an easy job it does require more concentrated training then one might expect.
Who is a Good Candidate?
In most states, a PSO must be at least 18 years old. It doesn’t matter your sexual preference. What matters most is that you are comfortable having this type of conversation with either sex. Callers will include men who want to have phone sex with other men and therefore, being homophobic won’t serve you well as a PSO. Although women do call in occasionally, most callers are men, unless it is a phone sex line for women.
What Type of Training is Required?
Some people might be surprised at the intensive training required to become a phone sex operator. To be successful it will require know-how and practice and that’s what’s offered during training. Another important aspect of training is learning what’s not allowed. For instance, any release of personal information is not allowed from the PSO. In addition, there are certain phrases and terminology that are off limits. The restrictions are mostly on the PSO while the caller can say almost anything.
Follower the Leader
The client is the leader and is always right. A PSO is on the call to serve and to follow the customer’s lead. That’s where being a good listener is a plus. For instance, if a caller comments about a PSO’s appearance he would comment naturally and in agreement. Over time, a professional PSO learns the language of the client by taking clues from each.
A trained PSO knows that he provides a valuable service. He has the power to make any caller feel appreciated.
Having a good knowledge base about what callers want is important. Being comfortable having intimate and descriptive conversations about sex is a requirement. Handling yourself as a professional will ensure that you will be successful as a phone sex operator for men and women alike.
